Boerne (pronounced bur-nee) is a hidden gem in the Texas Hill Country, featuring small town charm and high class elegance that make it a must on your destination travel list! To help you get the best experience when visiting Boerne, we’ve listed some expert travelers tips, our favorite restaurants and shops, as well as things to do during your visit!
What to Know
Boerne is a fantastic travel destination when you want to get away! These tips will help you get the most out of your time here!
- Night Life: most of Boerne closes up shop around 8 or 9 PM unless there’s an event going on, which typically happens frequently during the summer; however, due to COVID many of these have been postponed or canceled so you’ll want to check with the Boerne Visitors’ Center for updates. You can always just grab yourself a nice bottle of wine or a growler of microbrew and enjoy the evening and the view from our New Orleans-style balcony!
- Monday’s are Quiet Here! Most shops and restaurants are closed on Mondays. If you’re looking for places to eat on Monday try the Boerne Grill, Dodging Duck, Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., The Dog & Pony Grill, Mary’s Tacos, Hungry Horse, Inferno’s Pizza, or Bella Sera!
- Main Street Closes (for parties)! Boerne has several events throughout the year in which we shut down Main Street to throw a party, host a car show, or have parades. If you’re staying with us during these events, congratulations, you have THE BEST view in Boerne! Check the Boerne Visitors’ Center before you travel so you can plan accordingly!
Our favorite restaurant also happens to be one of the oldest Main Street restaurants in Boerne! Cypress Grille serves spectacular gourmet dishes from original recipes created by restaurant own and sommelier Paul Thompson and head chef Kevin Babbitt. The restaurant also houses a wide selection of fine wines that you can even purchase by the bottle! Enjoy Cypress Grille room service when you stay with The William!
If you’re in the mood for pizza, take a short drive off Main Street to Z’s Woodfired Pizza! Authentic woodfired pizza, selection of specialty draft beers, amazing salads, and great atmosphere make Z’s our favorite pizza spot!
And don’t forget the SNACKS! Salty & Sweet, just a short walk from The William Hotel, is a family owned and operated business serving gourmet flavored popcorn, fresh warm pretzels, home made ice cream, and a vast variety of delicious candies and snacks! You can’t visit Boerne and miss stopping by to visit this great family and their fun shop!
Where to Shop
Boerne is home to so many beautiful shops and boutiques! Right below The William Hotel is Jac’s, a high-end gift shop that is our favorite for wedding gifts, Christmas shopping, and our own homes! A definite must!
Looking for a great clothing boutique? You don’t even need to cross the street from The William! The Alley on Main, Ella Blue, Chloe Rose and Celeste are all just downstairs from The William and have stunning selections of chic clothing, shoes and accessories. It’s difficult to choose a favorite here so we recommend checking each of them out for yourself!
While in Boerne…
